This is a great rock super-Strat from the mid 90s. It was the top-end addition to the Mercury Series and was made for a few years around 1994-5. This one has a natural finish mahogany body (or some close hardwood variant of same) and is a rich coffee brown and quite heavy. The tone is not so far from a Les Paul.

The neck is a slim but rounded Strat-like 24 fret piece with a rosewood fingerboard and a reverse headstock. It’s just been set up and fret dressed and has a very fast action with 9-42 gauge strings on it.

It has a Washburn 600s licensed Floyd tremolo and locking nut. There are two Washburn humbuckers (621 in the neck and 623 in the bridge). Washburn’s in-house pickups have always been very good. It has volume and tone controls and a 3-way switch. The neck pickup is coil tapped through the tone control.

Overall it’s in good shape with just a ding in the back, some little fingernail marks on the front and a couple of small knocks around the edges.

I bought it as a spare for gigs, but have found I’m now not doing gigs where I need a spare rock guitar.
