A vacancy has arisen for a person to work with small animals at an animal sanctuary not far from Norwich. Along with larger animals the sanctuary has birds, poultry, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats and other smaller animals that have been rescued from across the UK and have suffered neglect and/or abuse.

The job involves:

• Preparing feed
• Feeding the animals
• Cleaning out the enclosure
• Maintenance
• Other general duties.

You must be prepared to work in relatively small and confined spaces for extended periods of time whilst cleaning out enclosures. Some heavy lifting of up to 25kg may be required. While there will be some contact with the animals on a regular basis, this position is not an animal care role as there are other dedicated staff who are responsible for this.

Requirements:
• Previous working experience with small experience preferable
• Own transport will be required to access the sanctuary as it is in a rural location.
• Safety boots required.
• Sympathetic and caring attitude towards animals who have been neglected and/or abused

The position will require early morning starts and regular weekend work. Full time 40 hours a week.

Salary £5.52 per hour (under 21) / £6.00 per hour (21 and over).

This position is initially temporary.
