Duration: 1 day (09.30 – 16.30) with two 15-minute breaks and 45 minutes for lunch

Objective(s) of the workshop:
This workshop introduces small business owners to basic management skills associated with group and individual performance, communication and delegation. The workshop provides an understanding of how individual employee needs relate to the business. It provides tools to help manage individuals and encourages a more proactive and innovative approach to your role. The day will support you, and in turn, your employees, in ensuring everyone is moving in the right direction towards achieving the goals, objectives and ultimately the overall business vision.
Aims of the workshop:
To recognise 6 basic needs that apply to both business and individuals, and understand how the needs relate to the success of the business
To look at a more strategic approach to management
To explore the need for performance management
To explore the differences and similarities between leadership and management
To recognise different styles of management
To identify the ingredients that bring about high performance
To understand the importance of effective communication, including ‘state’ and the need for performance feedback
To recognise the importance and benefits of delegating
