Senior Project Manager - Public sector

An exciting opportunity to participate in a large Improvement Programme, working in the centre of Manchester.

You will manage City Council Capital Projects. Holding responsibility for the successful delivery of all work elements, ensuring compliance with the City Council project management methodology and ensuring that the project is delivered on time, to budget and of the right quality. Reporting directly to the project board acting as principal contact on all project issues. You will also deputise for the Programme Manager when and where appropriate, and engage and guide the client department and Senior Responsible Owner though the lifecycle of the project. Line manage, supervise and deploy project management staff as appropriate. Ensuring that the project is adequately resourced at all times. Undertaking the recruitment, selection and induction of new staff as required.
You must possess proven expertise of working with Prince 2, or similar, and a commitment to employ the use of such a methodology; Proven experience in applying Project Management principles in challenging, high risk environments.
