The original Nighthawk had many clever technical touches like shaft drive, self-adjusting hydraulic valve tappets, oil circulated through the front downtubes, and so on.

The 700cc motor is way over-square at 67mm x 49.4mm, making for a high-revving and quite powerful motor with a fabulous yowling exhaust note.
