Job Description: Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen assistant required for a small kitchen in a busy student union bar.
10-12 hours p/w with the possibility of more hours as business progresses.
A mixture of morning and afternoon shifts, must be flexible.

The pay is £5.80 per hour.

The closing date for applications is: 11th November 2009.

Experience Required
• Good working knowledge of kitchen ‘best practices’ and food safety management
• An eye for detail – not only the food but the kitchen as well
• Good organisational skills and the ability to run the routine of a kitchen
• Have knowledge of stock control and rotation
• Work alongside the Ecobars Policy of being as environmentally friendly as possible at all times
• Must hold an up-to-date Level 2 Award in Food Safety (or higher) or equivalent experience.

Personal Qualities
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good customer manner
• Ability to get on with other staff members
• Enthusiasm
