The Web Developer will be responsible for creation and design of clients/internal websites according to specification.

Duties and Responsibilities

* To design and develop the corporate website ensuring strong functionality and optimisation
* To design and develop relational database systems and their web interfaces.
* Responsible for integrating the SQL Server database with the company website.
* Responsible for the design of company web pages, including graphics, animation and functionality.
* To develop web page infrastructure and application related to pages with more advanced graphics and features.
* To monitor web server and site technical performance.


Skills / Attributes Required

* Competent in HTML, XHTML, CSS (1 and 2) and appropriate editing tools
* Be able to demonstrate ability to code valid XHTML and CSS
* Developing cross‐browser and cross‐platform compatible solutions
* Competent in JavaScript, particularly for use in form validation
* Knowledge of using JavaScript frameworks to create rich interactive content desirable
* Some experience in DHTML and/or AJAX techniques
* Good understanding of Web Accessibility and be able to demonstrate work that
conforms to accessibility guidelines.
* An understanding of basic PHP and MySQL ‐ particularly experience of the integration of
server side code to produce dynamic pages
* Knowledge of the SQL language
* Knowledge and experience of using content management systems desirable
* Knowledge of HTML Email best practice desirable
* Knowledge of XML desirable
* Web / Graphical Design skills would be preferable.
* A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team.
* Knowledge of emerging web technologies

Relational Databases

* Understands complex database concepts as well as the implications of different database designs.
* Effectively employs many different database design techniques.
* Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management
system.
